Upcoming concerts – April 30 and May 1, 2016

If you need to satisfy your music fix, we will be playing two wonderful concerts this weekend!
-This Saturday at 2pm, the Christ Church Cathedral Arts Program will be hosting a concert of young musicians called “Musical Blossoms”. It will be a very wide-ranging concert with many talented musicians!
-Anytime from 11-4 on Sunday, you can drop into the Conservatoire de Musique de Gatineau, grab a coffee and pastry, and listen to some wonderful chamber music, all for free! Sounds too good to be true, right? Nope! For more info, visit http://www.conservatoire.gouv.qc.ca/…/brioches-et-musique-d…. We’ll be playing at the very beginning.musical_blossoms

House Concert – Feb. 26, 2016

We had a great house concert on Friday night! It was so much fun to prepare and perform – thank you very much to John Royle and Huguette Voyer for hosting us, and everyone who came to see us! Here are a couple videos from the concert:

Music to Dine For at the Belgian Ambassador’s Residence – Feb. 16, 2016

We performed at the Belgian ambassador’s residence for a Music to Dine For event last Wednesday and had a fantastic evening despite the copious amounts of snow! The ambassador, Raoul Delcorde, and his wife Fati were very hospitable and we had a delicious gourmet meal afterwards.

Lots of news!

Sorry for the lack of updates during the past couple months! We have lots of news to share…

  • Our second house concert is coming up shortly (on Feb. 26)! Thanks to John Royle and the YSPF for giving us this great opportunity! Seats are limited so reserve your spot now!Screen Shot 2016-02-12 at 8.14.08 PM
  • We will also be playing at “Music to Dine For” at the Belgian Embassy on Tuesday Feb. 16, and a LEUCAN benefit concert (more info to come) on March 11.
  • There are lots of photos and videos now available from the Young String Performers’ Foundation Vienna Exchange! It was a very exciting and enriching opportunity and our whole group had a wonderful time, not to mention the hospitality of all the people we met there! Visit our Vienna photos page (and the links at the bottom of that page) to get a taste of the experience!
  • Finally, we are excited to work toward the 2016 Canadian Music Competition! Since we are based in Gatineau, whose regional association is currently closed, our regional round will be in Ottawa in early May, our provincials will be in Montreal in late May, and the national final will be in Drummondville in late June.
